You have been invited to your co-worker’s house warming party. You enter the living room to see a beautiful clean, off-white carpet that off sets the black leather couches and modern black coffee table. Your co-worker hands you a glass of red wine and just as you take a sip from the glass you are bumped from behind and your glass goes tumbling onto the carpet along with the red wine that has now implemented numerous spots on the carpet. You apologize and your coworker tells you it’s no big deal. But can your co-worker actually clean that red wine up and prevent staining?

Maintenance of a clean freshwater aquarium does not have to be complicated. In fact, when done regularly, aquarium maintenance can be an easy and enjoyable task.

One of the best things you can do for the health of your fish is to regularly change the water in your aquarium. It is important to do this once a week. Never use abrasive cleaners or household products on your aquarium. These will disrupt the chemical balances your fish need. Additionally, you should never just add tap water to a freshwater aquarium. The abrupt change in water temperature can send your fish into shock.

Carpets get dirty. That is just a fact that most of us have to deal with. As much as we try to keep them clean and free of stains, it is impossible to prevent every accidental situation, like the dropped sandwich, the spilled glass of wine, or the child that got into the finger-paints. Though trying a do-it-yourself carpet clean is never as effective as hiring a professional to do it, there are a few simple ways to get stains, dirt, or spills out of a carpet.

In the good old days, cleaning a computer screen was dead easy. The glass front of your monitor could just be wiped over with a bit of window cleaner and an old rag. Most spots and fingerprints can be removed from painted walls with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser or a good all-purpose cleaner. But always do a test spot first and don’t rub too hard or it may remove some of the paint.

When repainting remember that the higher the paint sheen the easier it is to care for. For kids’ rooms, high gloss may be the best choice.

How many years have you spent, with your cat finding your Christmas Tree irresistible? Younger cats love to play with the baubles hanging off the tree, as they are shiny and interesting things that they don’t see very often. What normally happens when your cat spots the baubles is that it will tap it and tap it, then it grabs it and pulls the bauble off the tree. The chaos then follows! If you have a large real tree, you can guarantee having an excess of pine needles covering your carpet, or if you have an artificial Christmas tree, your cat will probably have moved the lower branches causing your Christmas lights and tinsel to hang off the tree; which then causes even more of a problem by leaving the temptation of more hanging objects for your cat to pull down.
